Our primary POP is a newly built facility named ‘SOTA’ and is based within Kent, South East England. Our office is little over 30 mins away from the site allowing us to make regular visits. Furthermore, for peace of mind, we have contracts in place to have engineers onsite within minutes should an emergency ever occur, regardless of the time!
Redundant Power
SOTA provide us a redundant, high-capacity, stable and reliable power supply with easy scalable expansion in the future. Power is isolated between racks and maintained indefinite. The facility use high specification UPS units to maintain the entire building power should the mains grid fail and high specification on-site generators which can deal with both customer and plant load whilst recharging the UPS.
Air Conditioning
To ensure optimum performance, all data floors are maintained at a constant 21°C ± 2°C and relative humidity is kept at 50% ± 10%. Both are continually monitored by the electronic building management system which also monitors and remotely operates sensors covering electrical, mechanical, fire detection and leak detection systems.
Fire Detection/Suppression
Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) has been installed at SOTA.
These highly sensitive smoke detectors are linked to the Building Management system which is pro-actively monitored from a network operations centre. This system provides very early detection to help avoid fire, loss and business disruption. This coupled with an FM200 gas based fire retardant that is environmentally friendly enables fires to be put out instantly without damaging equipment.
RackSRV understands the need for high quality internet bandwidth and we have spared no expense in insuring that our upstreams and our internal switching equipment are up to the job as having access to fantastic internet routing is pointless without having suitable hardware for delivery!
Here is an extract about the network topology of our Kent upstream:
"SynergyWorks operates its own multi-gigabit BGP4 enabled network. Our network spans 5 UK data-centres where we connect to 4 global transit feeds and gain access to over 125'000 low latency partial & peering routes."
Please feel free to test your latency and routing to our multi-gigabit Kent network via the following IP: 91.204.211.225.
You can also test your throughput to our Kent network by grabbing a 10MB or 100MB test file from our webserver at pxe1.racksrv.com/speed/
